2011 Ford Explorer

Are you looking for a 2011 Ford Explorer?

Q: When is the 2011 Ford Explorer coming out?
I know the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee just came out and it looks extremely nice. When is Ford Planning on showing the 2011 Explorer? Which do you think will be nicer? Thanks!

A: Probably later this year, or early 2010. The explorer would probably be more reliable. My neighbor has had both, the Grand Cherokee dropped the transmission fairly early, at least it was under a lease. The Explorer hasn’t given him any trouble. The Grand Cherokee was an ‘05 and the Explorer an ‘06.

Q: What do you think of the 2011 Ford Explorer?
Would you be more or less likely to buy one since it is now front wheel drive and based on a car platform?

A: I’m less likely to buy one, though I never have really ever considered buying one in the past anyway. Sorry, but FWD, unibody construction, and torqueless engines don’t appeal to me for a truck/SUV application. I’ll keep my Bronco for another 15 years, thanks.

NationwideKia : So you’ve driven the 2011 Explorer already? Tell us mighty time traveler, what is the trifecta for next years Kentucky Derby?

Q: Is there a fuse in a 2011 ford explorer sport 4WD that controls part of the transmission?
Is there a fuse in 2001 ford explorer

A: can i borrow your time machine??????????

Q: Is the 2011 Ford Explorer going to debut today at the Chicago Auto Show?

A: No.
I was hoping that Ford would debut the new Explorer at the Chicago show, being as how it will be built in Chicago…

But for some unknown reason Ford chose not to.
It will be unveiled at one of the other shows this year but they haven’t announced which show yet.

Q: 2011 Ford Explorer shows off its tech?
The new Ford explorer 2011 have amazing tech, see article:

http://www.autoshortnews.com/videos-2011-ford-explorer-shows-tech/

What do you think… this tech is necessary for this SUV ?

A: Well the only way for it to be the most innovative SUV, the SUV of the 21st century i believe so yes. Its competing with the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and other unibody SUV’s and to beat them the only way is by having a whole lot of tech. The technology in the ford explorer is revolutionary, it will change the whole segment. All of the technology helps with everyday driving, like sync, which simply uses voice command to help the driver stay concentrated on the road. Or the BLIS system which helps drivers with blind spots, and the Terrain Management System which gives it more off road capability. People can deal with blind spots by adjusting there mirrors properly but most people dont so Ford came out with systems that corrects human error basically. Curve control is another example if people use the signs when it comes to ramps, and use the recommended speed, there would be no problems. If we were all good drivers this tech would be useless, but it is quite obvious that there always will be bad drivers on our roads and to protect ourselves and others these systems have been developed. really its a personal decision.

Q: dose ford explorer 2011 will be changed?
hi i will bye a 2010 Ford Explorer i need to know dose ford will change the shape ?

A: Yes, it will go from a full body frame, to a unibody frame. The v8 engine is ditched…unfortunately. So far the engines chosen are the v6 duratec ecoboost engine, and the 4 cylinder duratec ecoboost engine. It has been claimed to look like a taurus X, then newer pictures has placed it as a larger ford escape. There will be a new terrain management system, like in the land rovers. Here is a spy shot. Best one i could find. http://www.ford-carz.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/2011-ford-explorer.jpg Dont know if this is how it will look, but it should be a nice car.

Q: when will you be able to buy a 2011 ford explorer?

A: Watch for production to start in the second half of 2010 at Chicago’s Torrence Avenue assembly plant, following a New York Auto Show debut.

Q: 2011 Kia Sportage or 2011 Ford Explorer?
Which of these would you buy and why ?
Thanks!

A: The Sportage is cheaper and more fuel efficient, the Explorer larger and more opulent. It all depends on your priorities.
My wants lie in a different direction, so neither would be my choice.

Q: Which is better? 2010 or 2011 Ford Explorer?
I’m thinking about upgrading cars and I have two choices. I really like to 2010 one because I like the way it looks and I think its better. What do you guys think?

A: It’s really up to you and what you prefer. If you like the Explorer as it is, there are fantastic deals to be had, because they are ending production of the current model. It’s more truck-like, and to be honest, a bit “old school.” It’s also hard on fuel.

The 2011 is going to be a much different type of vehicle, built on a car chassis rather than a truck chassis. It will be “state of the art” in terms of technology. However, you may not want that, and prefer what they producing now.

Either way, you really can’t go wrong.

Q: When is Ford revealing the 2011 Explorer?
I really can’t wait to see it, when are they unveiling it?

A: You might see something at one of the Auto Shows this Spring. Possibly even the Detroit show this week. Should be in showrooms 3Q or 4Q this year.

Q: New Ford Explorer 2011 Problems?
How much trouble do you think the ” Advanced Deceleration Fuel Shut-off ” will cause on the new Explorers? I see a major recall. First, there’s no way this could perform as well as normal fuel-injection, as there would undoubtedly be a hesitant power moment during the shut-off.

A: Look thats what people said about the 02 explorer that they where going to fail and right know they are declaired more strong than any other 6 cylinder SUV so there is no doubt about that there areno mechnical problems ok.

Q: The 2011 explorer. What do you think?
So most of you have heard about the explorer. But this new one is mixing up the explorer world. Unibody frame….unfortunately…. NO V8!!! HORRIBLE. But the twin turbo ecoboost engine is a sweet engine. The explorer’s towing capability is being taken down a lot. http://image.internetautoguide.com/f/auto-news/2011-ford-explorer-suvs-first-unmasked-look- Heres what its supposed to look like. What you think? I personally beleive ford should take the explorer back to its roots. Like my 98. An offroading machine, that lasts, and is reliable. But The best thing about the new explorer is the terrain management system. That is sweet. So tell me what you think about the new 2011 explorer.

A: definitely looks better

Q: 2010 Ford Explorer Limited or 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited?
Both have about the same gas mileage.
Both are priced almost the same.
Both are 4×4.(Don’t want a 4×2 NOR an all-wheel-drive.)
Both are V8.(don’t want a V6.)
Both have the same options.
The Cherokee is 5-speed auto.
The Explorer is 6-speed auto.

I have been interested in both vehicles but cannot choose between the 2. The vehicle will be for leisure and to drive to work and back(no off-roading or anything like that.). Based on the differences between the 2, besides looks, which one would you choose?

A: From a reliability stand point the Ford is gonna be better.

Not to sing the same old tune but Chrysler has yet to build a decent vehicle that is not falling apart.

Q: Has anyone used the Costco Auto Buying Service?
I have a few questions….. We are thinking about buying the new 2011 Ford Explorer when it comes out in a few months and have a few questions:

1) Has anyone utilized the Costco Car buying service?
2) If so, how is pricing determined? Is it a set % above or below invoice or MSRP?
3) Does it apply to recently released models or are they just for cars that have been out for a while?
4) Can they be specially ordered or do they have to be cars on the lot?

Thanks!

A: Interesting. I wish you well.

You should be able to get a good deal, but definetly do your research.

I know it goes back and forth between the dealer being the best deal and some 3rd party being the best, it’s just timing.

With a slick new ride like that, you’ll likely be better off with costco.
