Hyundai Sonata Turbo
Are you looking for a Hyundai Sonata Turbo?
Q: I am putting a turbo on my 03 hyundai sonata cnt find a prefit so im goin with ebay $600 one will it fit my v4?
A: Sure, but then you would have to fabricate an intercooler, all the piping, and an exhaust manifold. You will also need to lower the compression ratio of the motor and replace the rods, pistons, etc… with forged ones (which do not exist for your application so you better get to machining). Now that you haveaccomplished that you will need to get bigger fuel injectors and then get the car “tuned” for the new set-up.
My point is that there is a reason why there is not a turbo kit available for a Sonata. That car was not built with performance in mind. The motor and transmission are reliable, but very weak. You will spend thousands of dollars to maybe get 25-30 horsepower. It is not worth it. Save your money for a car this worth upgrading. It would suck to spend thousands of dollars making that car faster only to get it handed to you by a stock supercharged Cobalt SS.
Q: can a hyundai Sonata 2009 beat a 2002 audi a4 1.8L turbo?
A: I have a 2009 Sonata with the 260 hp motor in mine. There is no way an Audi A4 would even consider racing my car. In about 3 seconds from the start the A4 would see nothing but tail lights. Plus above all of this, the Sonata is much better built vehicle and has a better warrantee. Also, you can be sure your Sonata will start in cold weather. That A4 will give you starting problems below 35 degrees F.
Q: can i put a turbo on my sonata?
i have a 2009 hyundai sonata v4 and i would like more power. can you put a turbo on it or something? and would it void my warrenty? and how much would it cost roughly?
A: Absolutely, but you are going to have to get a custom turbo kit made because they do not sell kits for the Sonata. A custom turbo kit will cost you no less than $5000 not including installation or tuning. Doing this would void your entire drivetrain warranty (motor, transmission etc…)
Keep in mind that the internals of the motor in your Sonata were not built with performance in mind. You would have to upgrade your pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft and transmission because they are weak. You can bank on another $6000 in parts just for that.
So here you are having spent about $10,000 in parts to safely turbocharge your Sonata and you still won’t have anything over about 220 horsepower. If you have the money to take on this adventure, then you have the money to buy a faster car that is brand new.
Q: When is the all-new, 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited sedan coming out at dealers?
Also, since there won’t be a 6-cylinder engine, how much later in the year will the 4-cylinder turbo arrive? Thanks.
A: it is predicted to arrive in Canada and the US sometimes in April 2010. I’m not sure if the Turbo model has been approved for these two countries. will see….. V6 engine have been discontinued because Hyundai is concentrating (besides other major factors) in reducing fuel consumption. Sometimes in Sept 2010 you will be able to see Sonata and Tucson in Hybrid models. Just stay tuned.
Q: Hyundai Sonata (2011) ?

Q: Hyundai Sonata Question (2011) ?
anybody own a 2011 sonata? if so, is it good in terms of quality & comfort? & is the engine noisy or smooth? am thinking of buying the limited 2.0 turbo later this yr when they begin selling them.
A: comfy and stylish. kicking a.. Honda, Accord and Toyota. Looking for Turbo version. Wait and see. When it comes out I strongly recommend you to test drive one. Only this way you can answer your question. I can’t… How you feel in the car? You will be the only one capable of answering to this question and only by feeling it on the road. It won’t cost you anything to test drive one.
Have fun.
Q: Which is a better buy of the 2?
hopefully am getting a new car by october if not november of this year. and am confused between these 2 choices. hyundai sonata 2011 turbo or chevy equinox. which do you think is better & why? personal experience would be good. thanks.
A: Hyundai Sonata all the way. Have you seen how beautiful that car is? Hyundai has really turned around and made their cars reliable, inexpensive, and with great designs to boot. The Sonata turbo is highly fuel efficient and fun to drive. it’s currently the top midsize sedan in america right now. here’s a review on the sonata turbo, which isn’t out yet (incase you didn’t know)
