2011 3-series will be quite different from 2010 models

A: E92 and E93 coupes and convertibles for 2011 will be getting a facelift for 2011, the E90 sedan already was facelifted this year. 2013 would probably be the complete model change, so you might want to wait. I’m not sure if that information is available yet, but usually if its getting facelifted it should be available a little earlier than normal. So it may even be available before Sept.

A: Definitely a 5 series sedan..3 series sedan are much much cheaper than the 5 series…But in looks i prefer 3 series…well 5series is two times better than the 3series sedan..

A: Probably 2011 as a 2012 model. I very much doubt will have to wait till 2022 for the next generation 3 series.

A: A 2011 model will probably cost about the same as a 2010 model costs today. Right now inflation is near zero. If you mean what will a used 2010 BMW cost a year from now, it depends on the car and the mileage. If the car is really clean and the mileage under 15,000 probably 10% less that the car costs new today. However there are not many year old BMWs available.

A: No, I don’t think so. Each car has a 7 years life cycle before something completely new is released. The current BMW’s are fine the way they are (of course it depends on what you’re looking for and which package you are getting).

A: How many 2007 Maserati Quattroporte do you see around your city? How many BMWs do you see? BMW are everywhere. I personaly have never seen a Maserati in person. I think the Maserati would come with a cool factor because nobody else has one in your city.

A: Absolutely trust me on this, I’ve owned/driven/sold MASSES of both those models, and I’d choose the mondeo any day. The beemer is nice, but the mondeo is cheaper, and BETTER all round. I’d love to go off on a tangent about diesel models of the two, but that’s not what you asked, so I won’t. The modern Ford has far surpassed german tech. I drove a mondeo estate, four up, and kit on board, to scotland (glasgow) and back on just over a tank of juice, and it was a PLEASURE to drive. But that was a diesel model and I promised I wouldn’t mention them so I haven’t. Whoops

A: I am a Liberal and I won’t buy a car made abroad. In fact, I think we sent our own jobs across the waters because too many of us stopped buying American -made goods and bought foreign ones instead.

The last car I bought was a Ford….and I bought it because I was so proud of Ford making it on their own without asking for a government bailout like the rest of the car companies here….which are run by wusses.

I have seen many complaints here and endless tiresome arguments against buying American made goods….but until we start making a point to do so….there won’t be jobs here for Americans.

Only a fool sends money overseas and then complains that all the jobs have left America….every time we purchase something made abroad…WE are the ones keeping the workers abroad healthy and rich while we have no jobs here.

Everyone needs to quit blaming the government about jobs going overseas….WE sent the jobs overseas by buying foreign made goods.

I wanted to buy 1 series, and i was wondering when was this redesigned (2002?) couse it sux buying a car and then after a year or two they redesign it. (The 3 series was redesiged in 2007 and geting redesigned in 2011 i think.) Thanks Guys

A: We asked one of our research associates, who is a BMW enthusiast, to help answer your question. He said there is confusion about the BMW ! Series because BMW talks about the seminal 2002 (a specific model name; not a reference to a model year) which forms the conceptual basis for the new 1 Series, which is just now beginning to become available at dealerships.

This is the first year for this new series, which is based on the 3 Series platform. All buyers of the 2008 model receive a special plaque and the starter button has a ring engraved with the words “Year One of the 1″. BMW typically refreshes its models every three or four years and then does a major refreshing every seven years, so if you buy a 1 Series now, you won’t see major changes till about 2013, according to our expert.

The car is a two door coupe with two engines, the 128i is powered by a 230 hp inline six cylinder, and the 135i has that same engine with twin turbos and 300 horsepower – quite a lot for a relatively small car. The major difference between the 3 Series and the 1 Series is that BMW shortened the length of the 3 Series by about 8 inches, the wheelbase by about 4 inches, and the width by about 1.5 inches. This means that there is less mass at each end of the car, which means better handling. The 135i should be close to an off-the-shelf track-ready car as any modern BMW can be.

A: While the current (outgoing) 5 has been a strong seller, the new 5 will delivery even more. More traditional design (striking), a much more luxurious interior, and better handling will lure back the the defectors from audi and benz who thought the 5 was dated.

I still love the old design, but i’m sure i’ll come to love the new one even more.

My mom wants to trade in her 2007 Lexus ES350 and put the money down for a 3-year lease on a new 2011 BMW 5 series? Is this a good idea or should she just buy it and try to get the best financing rate she can get? How does the fact that BMW’s residual value is supposedly pretty strong play into my mom’s decision on leasing vs. buying?

A: leasing is an improper word… it should be called long term renting…

when you lease you never own the car…so you do everything a person who buys a car does..except in three years you either turn the car in, and have nothing, or buy the car all over again….

Leasing is only good for businesses, or if you are going from new york to la for three years, and won’t need the car after that….
